What do you guys think? Looks pretty cool to me. Do you think it will look cheap?

I realy don't like this. I love my guitars for what they are.
The feel of the body, and how would this skin alter the sound and playability?

It's an interesting concept. It could offer protection as well. Do they enclose the back of the guitar?

It does not look like they enclose the back of the guitar from the videos they have on the site.
You stick them on so I dont think they will gather any dust...

I see! I was put off by the pics on the home page.

It seems to be a cool way to make a cheap guitar look better though

It occurred to me, and they say something similar on their web site, that this is a way to preserve the original finish on the guitar whilst customising it yourself. It would probably be easier to sell a sunburst strat than one that's painted to look like a paved brick driveway. Plus it's probably cheaper and quicker than having the axe airbrushed.

This actually makes me wonder if it is possible to use clear, blank sheets of these things to protect the guitar.

I think some of the designs are cool ? Ausum idea. Think of it as having a whole bunch of stickers on your guitar(although I'm not a fan of doing it). I dont think it would change the sound of the guitar - what do you guys think? :-\ I mite actually give this a try on my Epi Les Pauls. I know a few guys who could probably sort the template out for me and put some sort of cool graphic on it. The one plus is that if you dont like it you can just take it off and replace it. It wont appeal to everyone but its a cool idea. It's also way cheaper and less hassle than sanding, and re-finishing your guitar. If you stuff it up guess what? You have to re-sand and refinish again until its right.

The only thing that would stop me from doing this, is having to remove the RG's hardware and then putting it back, trying to get the bridge to stop being a b@#$% >☹ and just do what it is supposed to. In the words of Jeremy Clarkson, "I'd rather blowtorch my nipples"...

It strikes me of being a version of the leather worked teles that a few people (notably Waylon Jennings) had in the early 70s. They had telecasters that were fitted with a leather outer costing that was made to fit the tele and then could be decorated in all sorts of ways.

Some of the designs are quite cool, but only as an idea for wallpaper on my kid's bedrooms, DEFINITELY not on my guitars!!
I try to imagine a guy owning a Yngwie Malmsteen, or Dave Gilmour Custom wrapping this on his guitar to make it look "new" or funky!!!!

Then again................???

Oky maybe its just me, but I like it (Well, some of it). If it's not permanent, I would give it a try on my ESP? Still hve to think hard about it :-\ :-\

There is a company in SA that makes that type of thing for your car to protect it against dirt and stones. I wonder if they could make it for guitar? I am sure they could. They do everything custom for each car anyway...
