Hi Guys I have joined the Forum!
I am looking for advise on which pedal is the best to go for between the Zoom G2.1U or the Boss ME-20...
I like the idea of being able to record with the Zoom unit & the drum machine, but I fear the sounds will not be professional?
Can anyone out there help?

Hi Matt
Difficult one this as this forum is quite Anti Zoom.
I have the Zoom G2.1U and you can listen to the weekly competitions to judge the sounds, although I am far from a good player.
The Plus side of the Zoom, as you have remarked is the recording side of it. It comes packaged with Cubase LE, which is quite difficult to grasp at first. But you can always use Reaper and Audacity as recording software.
The sounds are good enough to start with. Dont use the default patches they are awful, but with a bit of tweaking you can get some good tones. The drum machine sounds good but is not programmable.
Another option would be the Korg PX5 which Norio reviews - but the downside would be the lack of foot control if you are using it live(difficult to change patches).
I cant comment on the Boss. ?

Thanks for the quick replies! I have N-track studio which works really well! I play an Epiphone Les Paul Standard and used to have a Zoom GFX-1, but like you say the preset patches were shoddy and I struggled to tweak the settings until I was happy enough to use them!!
Most ppl say the ME-20, but its not the best for recording!! I would love the GT10, but thats way out of my price bracket!
Also I like the idea of the drum machine, but I hear it is more a glorified Metronome and a gimmick!

@ Matt
The other plus for the Zoom G2.1u is that it is an Audio Interface with supposed zero latency, so it would save you buying an audio interface. These range from R400 for the snake and R600 for the Behringer UCG and a lot more for the Edirol etc.
The tuner is very good.
Not as plastic as the the Previous Zoom's
Drums sound good, but as I said , not programmable.
I think I like it, but as I said I have not tried the ME-20. ?

I am being swayed towards the Zoom... Most ppl recommend the Boss, but not many can say why! Not being able to record is a huge downside.
My main problem was the Distortion & Gain on my GFX-1... But now I play through a Marshall MG50DFX, which has awesome distortion no pedal will match!
