Grant Guitars

Anyone heard of the make Grant? Just bought a Grant electric, Les Paul shape, on Bid or Buy. From the pic it looks good - black with gold trimmings. Also comes with a hard case.

UPDATED: Here's the pic (I hope)...

You buy a brand of guitar that you dont know anything about and one that you didn't even see in person! ?

I am brave, but you have GUTS!

I hope it turns out to be a good one though

Haha - I know... Best case scenario its a collector's item and I can sell it for a small fortune. Worst case scenario I get a guitar which I can play around with, modify, maybe even refinish

Wow, those are some seriously light-gauge strings!

Okay, so I picked it up yesterday and took some photos...

I think it completes my collection quite nicely. (Thinking I should have gone for the Arctic White tele now...)

This is the guitar as I got it - hasn't even been wiped down yet, and believe it or not, it reeks of smoke.

The neck and fretboard are in better condition than I expected.

There it is - a Grant guitar?

Will do many mods overtime, but overall, for just over a grand, I am happy with my purchase. Tempted to string it up and put it through its paces, but think I'll rather strip it and clean it up over the weekend.

Oh, by the way, the vintage hardcase in the first image, with original orange 70s fur, and the Squier strat are up for sale - will put them in the classifieds here first before trying elsewhere.

Sexy stuff....Your guitars will all go good with a suit

Yep. I used to own a Grant short scale bass guitar which was a Les Paul copy.
I learned to play bass on it and had tremendous fun with it, even used it in a band in a pub.
What I really liked was the size of it... unlike a real full size bass guitar I could actually get my fingers over a few frets. It ended up hanging on a wall in my jamming room... an ornament, and it invited some discussion, being a LP copy, but a bass guitar...
served me well. ?

That's one of the sexiest corners I have ever seen! ?

@ Squonk, speaking of observation, thought I'd let you know; I replaced those tiles in my lounge ?

@ Squonk - aren't lava lamps mandatory?

Just don't know what I'm going to do when I eventually find my Fender Jaguar... I have always thought that bookshelves are overrated anyways.

Heath

bookshelves are only good if they filled with books on guitars / bands and music else they are very last season

Congratulations!

BTW - the bridge is backwards - the screws should be on the pickup side ?

Bookshelves (especially the cluttered variety) are very good for room acoustics - they work as diffusers. ?

Always wondered about that, noticed some manufacturers have it the other way round though.
