Strat spares

giggsy

Hey there - anyone got any strat parts lying around in good condition that you are willing to sell? Specifically looking for a black pickguard and knobs etc. Bought a Squier that I want to fix up and try and sell for a profit - when I bought it it was covered in duct tape, so Ive stripped it and cleaned it and its in pretty good nick. While I'm at it, Im also looking for a black tele pickguard if you have a spare?

they have replacement bits, I know Bothners in N1 Value Centre keep stock of some of the stuff.

I've been to bothners today to get a graphtech nut, but they didn't have, but they have loads of mighty mite parts.

Wizard

I've tried everywhere to get a Graphtec nut.
Tried Bothners, Marshalls and even e-mailed Andy McGibbons.
No luck on any front.

I've heard rumours of an agency change... Andy's have never really worried with with keeping the whole range anyway. I complained to Graph Tech about lack of local stock recently - it's silly when you can't get a generic Strat or LP nut.

I always order direct from Graph Tech's site and deal with the guys at Graph Tech directly if I need some tech help. I'd let you piggyback off my next order, but I just got one this week, so it'll be quite a while before I order again.

Thanks - looks like I'll have to go the States route - GuitarFetish.com have all that I want so will probably use them - was just hoping that someone may have had what I wanted lying around

Please let me know if you want to share shipping and stay in Joburg - Vaal area.

Thanks for the offer, I'm in no particular hurry - want to install the nut and string trees and get a general setup at the same time I install the bridge you sold me.
Please bear me in mind next time you order & I'll piggyback if I haven't sourced by then.

@ Wizard I got all my Graphtech parts, saddles, nut, and T's, at Bothners Claremont. Try them they still might have stock.

Wizard

Thanks Rene.
Always forget about Claremont in favour of Plumstead; even though it's much further.

Aloha,

If anyone is interested, I placed an order with StewMac about two weeks ago for 6 Tusq XL (part no : 1865) nuts (Fender Strat blanks), one is for me, the rest are for Brian Fanner to do guitar repairs/upgrades. I'll chat to him and see if he has any particular plans for these - I'm sure he'll have -at least- one spare. Also have a few extra control pots (250k) and 1lb of fret wire coming in if anyone needs.

Will keep you guys updated when they land (expect more two weeks) *sigh*, patience is a virtue ?
