From what I understand, the CO2 does not let any more light through, it lets less through and therefore traps more heat in the atmosphere. Normally a body in space receives radiation from stars like our sun and emits light depending on its temperature. If reception and emittance are balanced the body will remain at a constant temperature. The amount of emittance of any body is linear with its absolute temperature to the power of four, meaning that a global warming from, say, an average of 290K to 291K would actually increase our output power by 1.39%. More CO2 in the atmosphere means we receive as much sunlight, not all of it getting to the surface, but we emit less because the emittance from the surface that gets through the CO2 blanket is also less. This disturbs the balance.
You agree that there's no difference whether the propane would be burnt to cool beer or burnt to braai?
