I don't think you could make it through Zappas band without that ability. Zappa could stop a musician in their tracks when they were showing off just by saying "Weedley-Wee" (refers to "the small fret guitar-playing technique that musicians have a tendency to display while in pursuit of a cross between a waitress and a hoover vacuum").

Exactly. Lots of guys have the technical ability or even more, but few are as musical or have the compositional chops. Have you seen the

Lol! I'd pay to see that. Far too few lady shredders around (Jane Mayne springs to mind, but she's more the Al DiMeola fusion thing). Failing that, you and I can do a nice, marketable Rodrigo y Gabriela thing (or reverse it and do electric versions of classical pieces ?). I don't shred, so you could do that - and we can share the groupies ?
