What a gig..

So to all those who couldn't make it.. Tempos in JHB rocked yesterday with some awesome SA bands rocking till late on a Sunday Evening..

Was cool seeing Spyke there. One has to admire the gigs last night.. For one, the mixing from FOH was much better than the Seasons Wither gig, not perfect, but way better. What was realy funny though was seeing Van Coke Cartel's bassist using an upright bass to play some realy heavy stuff.. I guess Motzart is rolling over in his grave after that little performance ?

Tempos is always a cool place to check out some great bands. The oudoors just gets a bit cold in the Winter :'(

I agree, the sound was one of the best I've ever heard. Have to take into consideration that the acoustics of the venue is appalling, so I think they did a great job. Drums were mic'ed very well IMHO.

That venue is actualy one of the best to get a mix in.. Open air helps, and the roof is made of 'grass', backwall is quite far behind and you get a nice spread from the mid-top speakers. What always will irk me is that people believe that you have to play out everything so loud.

It's not that I'm old, it just makes sense. Lower volumes actulay produce better!

I'll say this much, that was one of the quieter rock gigs I've been to... tinnitus for only a very short while afterwards.

What always will irk me is that people believe that you have to play out everything so loud.

I have yet to find a kid, sorry, young person who does not believe live music should be LOUD!! I am not that young anymore, but still love LOUD live shows, remember the Stones at Ellis Park??? The loudest show I've ever been experienced and loved every minute, the sound was great! Perhaps I'm in denial about my age! (It's only rock and roll!! and I like it!!)
