Got an old laptop you want to sell?

AlanRatcliffe

I have a friend looking for a laptop. Doesn't have to be a whiz-bang one, just in decent working order and capable of running XP and Word, browse the Internet, email, etc.

I know there are plenty out there on Gumtree, Bidorbuy, etc. but I'd rather get one from someone I know (and can hit if it's a lemon ?).

Budget? We'll see what pops up and take it from there.

I believe all 2nd hand computers especially laptops to be lemons, dry bitter ones at that. At one time I use to refurbish computers for resale experience tells me that most people do not get rid of there computers until they have sucked every bit of juice out of it. If the machine is still vaguely functional they will pass it on to a friend or a relative. Besides You can get an EEE notebook for as little as R2500 band new with a year warranty

S'true that. That's why I'm not looking in Cash Convertors, Gumtree or Bidorbuy. I'm hoping to be one of those friends or relatives.

I saw the EEE notebooks, but don't know much about them (yet). Now I know they are a viable option, I'll look.

I have a EEE pc , they small , compact and work well , never leave home without it , although limited in space on the orginal 700 series , the new 900 series have 20gb drives and 9" displays with touch screens , for basic word excel and internet they perfect .

I agree with Rene, New laptops aren't that expensive anymore. And the guys are quite willing to negotiate. I'm sure for between R3-5K you'll get something cool
