My names Louis Neilson, a Bassist from Table View, Cape Town.
Been playing for nearly 6 years [I know, still young ?], and I'm mostly self taught, with Steve Winter and Caleb Hill [don't know if any of you know them ?] being my only "teachers"
I'm currently first year in a my degree at Stellies, studying a BSc in Applied Mathematics with Psychology.
After I complete this, I want to go study a Bass Higher Diploma and Bass Degree at The ICMP in London.
Equipment wise I have a 5-string Ibanez G10, a 250Watt Behringer head [got for a steal from Josh Grierson], a 4x11" cab and a 15" sub [borrowed to be honest, but effectively mine]
Also have a SX Les Paul Custom [Piece of crap, but beggars cant be choosers] and a 30 year old Meteor acoustic, made of compressed plywood, recently restored [<3]
Music I listen to/draw from: Just Jinger/Jinjer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Dave Matthews Band, The Usual, Josh Grierson solo work, Finger Eleven, Jamiroquai, Jimi Hendrix, Maroon 5, Niche, Victor Wooten, Muse, Death Cab for Cutie, Gorillaz, Bonobo, One Republic, John Legend, Switchfoot, Coldplay, aKing, Verdi [just a bit], Sitis
Theres more, just can't remember them all at the mo
Don't have much band experience, but I've been playing since day 1 for my church, and 2 other local churches...
