I left my dads Eterna with a friend while I was working over seas. When I got it back after 3 years I noticed cracks running from the nut groove. I'll attach a few pics. Would be great to play it again but don't want to string it incase the neck gives in. Any advice or help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Help repairing 77 Eterna
Arune5 Eish, looks like that got dropped or it got stuck under something heavy. Looks to be a bit deeper than superficial in the first pic. I'd also be a lot nervous about re-stringing it too.
Definitely fixable though - headstock repairs like this are far too common, usually from falling off guitar stands (particularly epiphone's and gibson). I'd guesstimate R1-1.5k for the repair.
If in the Cpt area, Traut Guitarworx, if in Jhb, JD customs have both done loads of these repairs - they should be able to give you a better idea of damage & cost.
Hope she's playable again soon!

This is easy. You can stretch open the crack a bit, mix up some 30 min epoxy, heat it to flow easy, work it into the crack, "clamp" the neck, wipe off excess epoxy.
I do not think that will need a dowel as well.
