Welcome to the pit.
Instrument - you might like to actually look at it, so... apart from that, you would want to pick it up and use it, so physical size and weight and fit is a factor. It should not be difficult to use.
Many manufacturers follow a model number structure: N150, N250, N300, N650, often related to spec. Go for the "250" series, at least. Get a straight one - no twists or warps on the neck.
Setup is not overrated! Get the strings as low as possible. It will ease fretting, avoid wrong technique and posture, even avoid nerve/finger/wrist damage.
Your aim is to play lekker on your own at home. Do not get too involved with theory at first, learn a few basic things, play songs. Then expand your knowledge as skills and need requires.
Basic open string chords, the basic beginner way of tuning strings to EADGBE (Oh, do buy a basic tuner,it helps a lot), teaching your ears to hear "tones".
Important finger exercises - do learn to play the open position chromatic and achromatic scales, teaching you finger placement, finger stretching, proper string fretting. Do this a lot.
It helps to understand chord construction (and basic scales and keys), so you can see that playing a "F" does not need to be that difficult, do not use all the normal srrings, until your fingers are stronger. No need to make life difficult.
Relax. Be comfortable, do not tense up. Relax.
Have fun. It is easy, but it is Work and Effort.
