hello all, it's a great day i got a call from Albert meintjes to ask me to do a solo set of instrumental fingerstyle guitar at a gig with them (Allen Wood project) way cool cos Albert is a great acoustic guitarist and i really admire his work.

also this will be the furthest North i have ever performed in Jhb the gig is at Steak and Ale in centurion, so anyboody living in the north come and support me at this show... it's gonna be interesting to see how the people up North respond to my acoustic instrumental style.... and it's good research cos i have a booking for a lunchtime recital even more North at pretoria Botanical gardens on may 17th just me on acoustic and a jazz violinist .... so i'm slowly edging north ....

i will be perfoming all orginal songs from my world music cd which is in post production, all performed in my fingerstyle ,percussive style......

It's so far north in Jo'burg that it's more like South Thswane and definitely in Blou Bul territory. Not that that's a bad thing, but Jo'burg it ain't ?

K, Im quite sure the locals will make you feel more than welcome! Theres always a small, but loyal crowd. S&A is our local venue/watering hole and we know Albert very well.

heheheheh matt yeah i thought about that..... but seeing i only play instrumental music and most of my titles are in spanish or italian heheheh think the language issue will not get broached.... heheh i just hope they don't get chatty with me in afrikaans .... i understand it in a limited way only hehehehh

ok Bob now you scarying me ....... i sure hope this is not the "rugger bugger" crowd... heheheh but i have the faith that Albert plays there and acoustic ..... if you don't know him try make the gig and see him, i know you seen me a lot but he has an awesome style on acoustic way above average players .... and also owns about 2 or 3 mervyn davis guitars btw .... sorry hope that's not a sore point.... yeah i'm truly excited to share a gig with him.... always great being on the same bill as people you admire .....

Tony Cox is back in town .... from UK for a few weeks if the guitar fans are interested.... and he is doing a few gigs around town ... i'm prob off to a pvt sware he's performing at on monday .... a legend of acoustic music in this country along with steve newman....

I see that Tony played at the Acoustic Kitchen in Kings Lynne UK. Pete Kitchen's Folk Club, a friend of mine who left RSA for the UK in 2002 has returned to his Folk Roots, brother of Syd.
