Hi Guys

Sorry i'm still new into the electric guitar. Well i just bought one of those cheap R1000 guitars. last month.
The end of this month im looking into getting an epiphone Les Paul. What software do you use to record and create drum loops as well as other instruments instead of having an keyboard or midi controller. im going to by my eqipment at marshall music

I use a program called Guitar Pro 4

You can download tabs that other people have made for it of the net, load them into the program and it gives you an immediate backing track.

It allows you to record your playing combined with the backing track.

Very user friendly interface,Give it a try.

I have been using guitar pro 5 but the trial version. I like it but cant but any international software. None of these music shops sell guitar pro. On guitar pro 5 the full version has got RSE(Realistic sound engine) which sounds so good and has got 49000 tabs. Where can i buy guitar rig from and whats the price?

LMinnie

I have the exact version of which you speak glug.

Wanna trade?

I take visa, debit card, cheques, small children and old equipment or generally whatever you have.

The recording software I use is Sonar 7 Producer. I have been using Cakewalk software since the old days (CW 8). In another thread Alan mentioned he started with Cake 4 in the dos days. He had a few year head start on me.

Back to the topic question. Guitar Pro is great as well. There are many programs that will do the job. Sonar works for me the best because it really makes it easy to do backing tracks. The included synths have awesome sounds. The session drummer, dimension pro, z3ta+, etc and the effects are counted amongst the industry leaders. (I'm not trying to sell you a copy of Sonar.)

I've been using Sonar since it was cakewalk together with Adobe Audition since it was cooledit 98 I recently took a look at a relativly unknown product that Alan metioned in another thread called Reaper
http://www.reaper.fm/ - try it , it's small, it's cheap, it's awsome.

Yeah Sonar 7 Producer for me too, but I suspect R7K might be out of the OP's budget. Reaper's good. I've been meaning to try Ubuntu Studio too (free Linux for audio & multimedia), but haven't gotten round to it yet.

I mostly use loops for drums these days although I will sit and spend a few years on programming drums if I have to. Otherwise I have a keyboard controller for inputting MIDI drums, but can't play keyboards, so I do all the synth stuff on guitar.
