Which Multi-Effects Pedal?

There are # multi-effects pedals I am looking at at the moment.

Boss GT-10
Line 6 X3 Live
Digitech GNX4

I've read a lot of reviews. I like the mic inputs on the Digitech and the Line 6. I doubt whether I'll ever need it, because I don't even sing in the shower. ? But it is a nice to have and I am a gadget addict...

I've read that the Line 6's sound is the closest to the original sound of the modelled pedals and amps, but I am more interested in creating my own sound.

One thing that I have gathered from all the reviews I have read is that you can get good tone out of any of the boards if you spend enough time tweaking your sound.

I am looking to buy the pedal that will allow me the most creatively when editing to come up with completely new sounds.

I will be using the pedal for recording and for playing live through a PA, not an amp.

Which of the pedals would you guys recommend? Or do you have other suggestions?

So, just so I understand clearly... you need amp modelling as well because you're playing direct into the PA and not into a guitar amp?

If that is the case then get the X3 Live without a doubt. Line 6 in THE standard when it comes to going direct.
The effects are cool (delays are great, chorus is ok, reverb is cool) but the main selling point is the amp modelling.

The GT10 is widely regarded as having better effects but Boss has always been trailing Line 6 when it comes to amp modelling.

And I'm generally not a fan of anything Digitech except for their new Hardwire series.

If you're looking at creating your own sounds then I would look at the GT8. You can get them for pennies nowadays and a lot of people I've spoken to have said that they actually prefer it's amp modelling to the GT10.
I haven't tried the GT10 personally so I would suggest going to test drive one.

Of the pedals you mention, that's the Boss GT-8 or -10 AFAIC. The 10 is theoretically better and I like some of the features on paper, but I haven't spent any time with it.

To be honest, the king of this kind of things is Native Instruments Guitar Rig. I'm a terminal tweaker and nothing else has anywhere near the power and flexibility of Guitar Rig and a decent laptop. When I got GR, I immediately sold off my POD Pro and my GT-Pro as even together, they were hopelessly outclassed by GR.

I will have to go with the GT-10, I'm definitely getting one at the end of the year.
The line 6 effects boxes are just as nice. I'm currently using a Line 6 DM4.
Look it up, you just might like it.

Found this when checking out GR3. Sounds great!
