Rory Gallagher
Bob-Dubery
A player whose name I don't see coming up on the forum that often is the late Rory Gallagher.
He had a reputation not only as a fine player but as a showman.
Here's a taste (pardon the pun)...

I love this dude! (and even my teen kids do...)
Watched parts of the 74 Irish Tour DVD this weekend past - we just cant get away from that acoustic version of As the crow flies...

Very nice player, I listen to him quite a lot. The '74 Irish tour is almost constantly on repeat on my ipod.
He's definitely one of my favourites. A great example to prove that all you really need is a guitar, a booster pedal and a cranked amp.
There is actually a small style section on him in the March 2009 edition of Guitarist magazine.

Awesome use of slide there...
Squonk
One of the best Blues Guitarists and most probably my favourite.
I discovered him by accident. Walking through Hillbrow in the 70's, Hillbrow Record Library with their huge sale section, I saw this album by a band called Taste, It was their second album called "Taste". Intriguing enough so I bought it, what a good album,
'74 Irish tour - brilliant stuff ?

HooBoy... another of my heroes, and every once in a while I have a new favourite... A Million Miles Away, As The Crow Flies, but when I'm playing the hi-fi real loud and Madam tells me to turn it down, I know I've latched onto another favourite... Walk On Hot Coals. ?
