I sometimes shoot with my air-rifle at beer bottles. Sometimes I go face-skating on the ice. But people get jealous when i do that, not many people dare try that. I like martial arts. But mainly watching it. You see, I'm too good blocking with my face. SO its rather unfair for the others. I can chain smoke quite well though. But it is true, one can't be afraid of what could happen. There are so many taxis out there. so yeah. I'm extreme.
@ Aubs: What kind of guns are those? Caliber? muzzle velocity? got a website?

Yes, he is the current world champion. He is French, and the Americans shooters hate his guts! Because he's not American.
Eric is sponsored by Tanfoglio (Italian). They build his custom guns.

Calibre is 38 super. Muzzle velocity is 1350 to 1400fps with a 124gn bullet. (That is checked with a chronograph, you have to be within spec, depending on the bullet weight)

My wife and I use STI guns (USA) which are custom built to our specs by 2 of the best gunsmiths in South Africa.

Websites: IPSC.org, (and there are links to all the afilliated countries in the world), but to see more action just go to "youtube.com" and type in IPSC shooting. Then enjoy the clips.

BTW, speaking of guitarists and extreme hobbies, I should also just mention Bruce Dickinson, who is/was a competitive fencer, and now owns a fencing company when he's not flying jumbo's... ?

I actually did think of Bruce, and only now confirmed that he is a guitarist, even though he is the lead singer for Iron Maiden. Yep, he is a qualified pilot (captain), and also flies their
Boeing 757. He also did a documentary on the Airbus A320, for the Discovery channel. Sure he can fly a few others as well.
He also drives TANKS for fun, and is a high speed train spotter. Hell, this guy lives his life.

Even though none of these are competitive sports (besides him having been a competitive fencer) as such, he lives his life (to the eXtreme!) like there's no tomorrow.
Awesome.

BTW. There is no tomorrow! Ha ha ha......

Potentially a whole bunch of people that need to track down wounded animals to euthenase. I used to hunt but not anymore. Two reasons:
1. I dont really enjoy the taste of the meat so I had to ask myself why I do it. Didnt like the answer.
2. Hellish expensive.

On the subject of the scope, I have shot with and without. Scope makes you more sure of your shot so I think it is better. Not good to have a bunch of wounded animals roaming around. Also, it doesnt take difficulty out of the arena when you use a scope. Even with a scope there are ways to approach the shot without being detected.

Used to play ice hockey , cricket and squash ..... tell i buggered my knees up , now i don't do any of the above , miss the ice hockey thou .

I don't think I'm into extreme sports as such anymore. I used to be an avid mountain biker and BMX'er. Used to roller blade and play street hockey.

Nowadays, cars are my life and my livelihood. They come first as I'll end up making more money off them than I will from guitar (ask the guys who attended the Jhb GTG!). I do motorsport commentary as well and at the drifting events I stand in the middle of the arena while the guys drift at 110km/h+ around and past me.

My job sees me driving pretty insane stuff from time to time and doing some crazy things too. Take this for example: Taking photos in the midst of a tandem drift.

That's about as crazy as I get, I've calmed down a lot.

I prefer a ghost ring to a scope when you shoot at charging buffalo with a 416 Rigby. Not enough time to focus through a tube when imminent death is approaching. ?... But yeah, it has become seriously expensive and my GAS takes priority

job? "When your job is so much fun, its not a job anymore". I don't think the Stones (or any great/famous musicians), ever regarded touring, recording, composing, etc. as a job!

It is cool. It has its job-like moments ("Spyke! I need 2500 words on this tyre! And I need it yesterday!"), but on a whole I can't complain. However, journalism is like crime - it doesn't pay. ?

I can't imagine doing a 'normal' job... I tried, it bored me to death.

I was a BMX'er for 3 years and took it pretty serious. I then found guitar and sold my bike (of R12 000) for more gear, and now I regret it because I've been craving to ride again.

Will probably get back into it soon.
