Definitely Yay....I mean.... I can remember how shocked I was when I found out Lemmy plugged his bass into a guitar amp...I love their stuff....very rough around the edges, but still rockin'

HELL YEAHHHHHH! \m/ I love Motorhead!!!
I love how they brought the whole punk and metal thing together. I love how they just do what they do without excuses or trying to be cool. And I love how Lemmy just seems to be able to sing only 2 notes (high and low) and get away with it. And it's just a nice plus that Lemmy features in the Airheads movie.

I loves me some Motorhead. Simple songs, simple music, completely unaffected "fuck you" attitude, ugly as sin and heavy as all hell (think a much heavier AC/DC on speed). While they influenced the "speed" and "thrash" bands, they are far better, with no delusions of grandeur - they just like playing hard, fast and loud. Proud winners of NME's "worst band in the world" award. Responsible for possibly the most "interesting" cover version of Louie Louie ever recorded.
Lemmy's (nickname from his habit of asking everyone to "Lemme a fiver?") bass playing is unique in that he holds down the rhythm - he's actually quite a good "normal" bass player too, if you hear his stuff with Hawkwind.
Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor is like a hard rock version of Keith Moon - a complete maniac, both behind and out from behind the drum kit. Once played a concert with a broken hand, binding it with gaffer tape and also taping the drumstick to it so he could play. Also played a tour with a broken neck after falling on his head from the drum riser (he can be seen in a neck brace in the Ace of Spades video). Best described as a whirling dervish behind the kit.
If you don't know them, best check out Ace of Spades and the live No Sleep 'Till Hammersmith.

"You know I'm born to lose, and gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby,
I don't wanna live for ever,
And don't forget the joker! " - Ace of Spades

Ace of spades was on one of the Tony Hawk games. That song still haunts me at night. I love their heavy riffs and that guys voice, sounds like his been kicked on the throat many a times.
