VOX Valvetronix

Ray

Looking to buy an amplifier or two and when I initially joined the forum some folks reckoned that Valvetronix is a good way to go. So I've been thinking about the AD50VT. Seems to be everything for everyone. Now I read a review in Guitarist about a new VT series (15 and 30, and they sing the praises). Seems they dropped the AD moved the VT as prefix. On the VOX site I have checked and just cant find the difference between the old and new models. Anyone around here know anything about this? Are the new ones available in SA yet?

Tnx

mornin dude ?

yeah man, vox have come out with the new valvetronix-vt series. the new vt's are very similar in layout to something like the line 6 spider amps: 4 channels, a good whack of 'artist/song presets' already loaded in that are quick to just call up. i think people liked the old ad series but wanted more than 2 programable channels.

The old AD30VT struck me as very plastic, and not very loud. Definately not loud enough to play clean in a band imho. Upping the gain helps to be heard but that's it, and it's not clean anymore

In a nutshell, the VT's are the newer, upgraded versions of the AD series, while the XL's are aimed at a higher gain crowd. The differences between the two are too much for me to type, so I'll just link to it...
