I'd say it will be way too loud for at home practice, but can't vouch for the comments made on it sounding less clear when not turned up a bit. It's a solid state amp into a (nameless) Celestion 12" which apparently is not anywhere near the Vintage 30, I give it a year before you start GASsing after an upgrade. I mean, a year's not bad.
The question is, what will you pay for that year? Rather than looking at the purchase price, look at the depreciation of the stuff. It's been around for a decade now so I presume you know of one being offered second hand. You will have a good indication of how long it's going to be for sale and what price you can get by looking at what others (besides yourself) are willing to pay.
