Reflecting on a list I wrote about 8 years back...
It's a long blog post, but worth reading I rate ?

Now start YOUR list.

Interesting read.. I share a few with you, and likewise I've not reached all of mine.. I'm 3/4 way through my list for 'before 30', and seeing that I'm turning 27 tomorrow I've got a bit more time. ? But the last few are basicaly out of my hands.
The 15 year one is about as dead as an ox waiting to go to the slaughterhouse. Time to dust of the ambition armband and get back on track I think.. :-[

I also started such a list 2 years ago, i have reached some of my goals, but still a long way to go, some of it is stupid and senseless stuff, but i just keep adding things to the list to keep me going.

Good read, thanks for sharing that with us Norio. It's not something that I've ever done (make a list) and the goals / dreams / aspirations I envisioned a few years ago, or even in school for that matter, have either changed drastically or are no longer goals. No more do I deem those to be viable or adequate. One could put this down to realistic dreaming or just a lack of foresight in my younger years.
What I can do though is make a list of noteworthy achievements I've accomplished over the last few years. I've done a few things that I never thought possible - just the direction my life took. I could quote scriptures and clichés along the lines of "What God proposes... etc", but I'll save that for another day.
I don't know if I'd be able to draw up a list like that now either. The past has dictated that anything is possible and plans will be disposed of. Some of the plans and goals I had as a wee grasshopper fell terribly flat early on - rejection is a bitter pill to swallow.

all goal i set for myself before i turned 30 came true (except owning a ferrari) , now that i have hit 30 i make new goals for the year , this year is to open my own pub . all i can say is kids definetly change your goals and out comes , for the better of cos . but there again shouldn't we just ride the wave and enjoy the ride

I'm still gonna be me in 15 years. ?
Goals and circumstances change, so I keep my options open and my mental "list" changes as I do.

We did this time capsule concept as a class excercise in grade 8 . We were supposed to get the letters back in matric although the teacher forgot to give them back :/ .
Back then though I would have never thought I'd be into playing guitar as I am now. In fact, back then I barely even listened to any music. 4-5 years and a complete change.
Have any of you guys become something completely different????

Well ... I've just started playing guitar at the age of 47.
That's a little different ?

Wow Norio, that's really good. Long term goals ......... Byron, yes, I would never have dreamt the different directions my life has taken,
including my wanting to be the biggest rock star of all time since I first heard "she loves you yeah, yeah, yeah!!!!" and "Little Red Rooster".
But this is a bit more serious, never too late to start anything .... or project.

I'm still gonna be me in 15 years.
I guess me too, though I hope I'll be a better guitarist by then, though undoubtably one who wears glasses to read tabs...I find that I tend to hold pages with text further away nowadays.... ☹...I always knew everyone ages but I really thought in my case an exception will be made... ?

Very true...we never regret the things we've done, but we always regret the things we never did...well in most instances anyway!

Iam with Alan on this one ...My interests and hence, goals change all the time depending on what iam doing...My life goals however i do believed ive reached...at the ripe old age of 30 i have achieved everything i was aiming for.

Whats funny is that I'm almost doing what I dreamt of when I was 15!! ? Only thing that differs from my origional dream is that I thought I'd be a rock star by know having my toes sucked (I can't remember from which movie that line comes from)
But I wanted to from a young age be involved in sound and music, and this is what I'm doing with my life at the moment. Goals change on how to get to the dream.. but the dream is still there as the final destination and that keeps me going every day..
Only thing I've noticed that has changed in the last few years, was that I thought I could also become quite a good pool player, that got thrown out of the window when on Friday a chick beat me 3 in a row.. O.K she was hot, so my excuse is that I LET her win.. ?

I think it's fantastic to reflect on the younger you. Even if your goals have changed substantially, it's interesting to see what USED to mean a lot to you and what still does. I have a little journal my standard 7 English teacher made us keep. Every now and then I read it again and feel REALLY embarrassed at how petty I was ?
Ag ja, that's life though. I'll probably feel the same about 25-year-old me in 10 years ?

Good stuff Norio ?
It's not too late to start your list!
I was an idiot at 15, If i had made a list then it would have been something like this;
1. Grow my hair as long as John Lennon (done - But with RSA summers, much shorter now)
2. Take drugs to enhance my creativity (done - but no enhancement)
3. Be as anti establishment as I could be. (done - but got me nowhere)
4. Marry an older Japanese wife. (Not done (thank goodness) rather went for younger Irish girl)
5. Write songs that really anger religious groups. (not done - still to record them)
and so on...

Hehehehe ?
Mine would've been pretty silly too but I took some time to think of something REALLY big that would (in my mind) take 15 years to accomplish. I think that's why it's a good (IMO) list. Could be better but still worth achieving when I look back at it 8 years later.
*does a little jig*
