I think Toto was one of the best bands ever. I got their farewel DVD from Germany (not available in SA), unfortunately, David Paich(keyboard) and Mike Porcaro(Bass) couldnt make the whole tour. Leeland Sklar filled in for Mike. Seriously good bassist. That show was also brilliant!

I saw them here when they came out and was a bit disappointed. Enjoyed watching Simon Phillips (the man is, if anything, too note perfect!), but Lukather turned every single song into a guitar shredfest. We left before it finished.

The acoustics were annoying too - Bellville Velodrome. Just Ginger opened and sounded great because they were at moderate volume, but when Toto came on, the engineer pushed the volume ...and the room pushed back (as domes tend to do).

I don't know how many of you have heard the album version for Toto's cover of this beautiful song, but I assure you, it's some of Lukathers' finest work! It's off the album called 'Through the Looking Glass'

+1 on that. I have the DVD with this song on it. The whole DVD is Awesome. (25th Anniversary Concert in Holland)

The show is named after their last album Falling in between (Available in stores). IMO i think their best album to date. Let me know what you think of the DVD. I love it!

My son has the Simon Philips Teaching DVD. Awesome stuff. BTW has Anthony Jackson on Bass (Say no more...... ?).

You're absolutely correct......apologies to Eric.......but maybe George was so upset, could'nt play the solo while Eric was sceaming, and then stole his wife......Hahahahha....poor George!!

Indeed - a ballsy move given that Eric so clearly had a thing for Patti. Apparently the outside musicians (like Billy Preston for the Let it Be sessions) were brought into the studio to alleviate tension (mostly between McCartney and Lennon) over Yoko's presence in the studio, etc... The tension over Patti couldn't really have been helped, though, when Lennon formed his Dirty Mac side project with Keith Richards and.....Eric Clapton. (Patti had also had an affair with Ron Wood. Eish.) With friends like these, George didn't need enemies.

I think during "The White Album" recordings Paul had developed quite a big head and was kind of flaunting that on George and Ringo. I Think Ringo even resigned during these recordings. John, George and Ringo also wanted different direction in management to Paul, so this was also weighing in heavily during the sessions. I think John brought Yoko, just to p... Paul off.

What the freak did John see in Yoko anyway. Another Question would be, what the Freak did Patti see in Ron Wood? ?
