While my guitar gently weeps
I bought the "White Album" in 1976 when I was 13 and I was blown away by the whole Album, But due to the lack of internet and our poor Library in Florida, I had no Idea that Eric Clapton did the lead guitar on "while my guitar gently weeps".
George wrote some good songs, especially over the last few albums. On Abbey road IMO he had the two strongest tracks.
I enjoyed the tone he had, The lead solo in "something" , gave me goosebumps when i First heard it.
Yep, it was common knowledge that Clapton did that solo. However, when he eloped with George's wife, Patti (I think her name was, his hit "Layla" was he dedicated her, if my memory serves me correctly), that was probably the end of Clapton solos on Beatles songs ......hahahahaha.
I always for some strange reason believed John Lennon was a better guitarist than George."Something" was good though. He did do quite a lot of lead bits. Don't ask me which, check the credits on your albums.
Can't say I liked much of George's stuff post-Beatles. Maybe one or two. (Apology for going slightly off-topic)
