Modifying a Behringer AC108GPKST3BK

I've been really interested in modding a guitar for myself on a beginner level. I bought some nice strat Pick ups from Andrew B and I now wanted to get a semi cheap guitar to play around with. I can get hold of a Behringer AC108GPKST3BK (one of those box combo guitar things) for free. I wanted to know if it is worth trying to mod this guitar and what I could do (other than change pickups and change the nut) to make it a bit more playable.

the behringer was the first guitar i modded , firstly rip out all the electrics and switches , they all rubbish and replace them with quailty componets , also if you feel up to it , bomb the body , they rubbish theres a pacifa body going on the forum , the behringer necks are fairly good and use them for my projects other then that , the bridge is ok , but a wilkson bridge or a old fender bridge would be better . the tuners are not the best and imo should be changed for locking tuners .

ROFLMAO! hahaha. I'm chilled with the body. Its very light, but that's kinda what I need for now... I'm quite worried about the bridge. Been trying to lower the action, but turning those screws doesn't seem to have much of an effect. Any info?
Another thing that perplexed me, is that it seems to be a floating bridge, but it doesn't move at all. It's got the springs in the back, but i really can't get it to budge...

My girlfriend has one of those "things" lol. I cleaned it up a bit and did a basic setup. I didn't touch the truss rod though, I don't have any knowledge or experience on truss rods so I stayd well clear. If you get it for free read up on truss rod adhustments and experiment.

Not really the best platform for modding and hotrodding, IMO. Pickup replacement, fine - just keep the old ones to put back in when you sell it.

IIRC, It's a synchronised trem, not a floating - 6 screws in front of the bridge? They are not for action adjustment, they are to stop the bridge moving forwards. The pivot point is the edge on the body rather than against the screws. If you've tightened those screws down, the bridge won't move.

You adjust the two hex keys on each saddle to raise or lower the individual saddles for action or radius setting.

ah :-\ thanks alan. Hmm, I am truly noob at this. lol! hahaha. Won't be suprised if I manage to blow the thing up! hahaha. Thanks for the input guys! It is for free in the end, so I'll try do what i can with it!
