Foot switch...

Hey guys,i recently baught a VOX AD330VT (very nice little amp) and now I wanna get
a foot switch for it...

At the back it says VFS01 but none of the shops I went to has them,can I use sumthing else?
what would u recommend?

Have you tried Turnkey Music in Jozi? They are the agents for VOX in SA.

I think footswitches are footswitches and they're pretty much compatible with any amps, but I'm not entirely sure so maybe somebody should confirm that..

I bought a Marshall footswitch for my HiWatt amp, besides from having to resolder the wiring a couple times its been quite a good unit. It just has one switch for selecting clean or distortion channel, but you can get ones to include a reverb on/off switch as well. These could maybe be alternatives if you can't find the exact model you're looking for.

Not all foot switches work with all amps unfortunately. Beware of built-in LEDs and anything but mono jack connectors because those might screw you around >☹

I reckon your best bet is to try it out.

I had a similar issue. I bought My Laney TF200 and had no footswitch. I tried the Boss Switches but they are all electronic and for it to work I had to keep it down. I ended up finding the Laney switch at Marshall music, took the amp in and tried it out. The only problem is the 1 and 2 buttons perform the opposite functions but it works nonetheless.

I have a Marshall footswitch on my JTM 60 with the Channel and Reverb buttons. But the reverb switch does nothing. Anyone know what to look for to fix this?

had the same thing with my Marshall that I sold end of last year... Channel switched, Reverb nothing.

I don't think the Reverb had anything to switch... just the amount of reverb dialed on the knob.

how many channels are on the amp? an amp with 3 channels, or a clean, lead and reverb effect would use 2 swithes. if its just lead and clean you would only need one switch.

I think that amp only needs one so thats why you have that issue.

Only two channels. This is something I've seen on a couple of Marshalls, is it just a generic footswitch, and some amps don't have that reverb switching ability?

On a bit of a side track - how does the actual switching work - I mean what does the amp detect when the switch is on?
