Best Acoustic Electric Guitars For R5000-R7000

Hi All

I've recently started playing acoustic guitar (like last month) with my friends Cort CJ5X and I really want to start practising with my own guitar but don't know what models are the best. I want a good Acoustic Electric guitar that I can learn on as well as play infront of an audience.

So could you guys help me and suggest what acoustic electric guitars are the best between R5000 - R7000.
PM me if you have 2nd hand acoustic electric guitars that retails between R5000 - R7000 but want to sell it for less.

Have a look at Cort accoustic guitars. I have this thing for the Cort EVL series accoustic.

The best place to look for second hand gear would be gumtree.

to be honest .... if you have R5000-R7000 you can can get just about anything in the middle range...cos new discounts from stores in this bad economic climate is huge.... i looked at a guitar for R8000 this past week and was offered it for R4300 for cash of course so everyone is negotiable for hard cash.... and if the store you at won't give you a descent discount go to another that will appreciate your biz.... and try find out which store actually import the gear .... that way they have a bigger discount margin to offer you ....

so try out guitars and buy the one you like.... remember if you have R7000 to spend you can look at the
R1o ooo guitars and talk em down.... and ask for a free setup...most stores offer that too to attract biz....

also don't go on what others say try each guitar and buy it cos it sounds and feels right to you ... not cos i or someone else suggested it....

yeah for that money you can buy something nice ....

I'll second all the points that Keira has made. I'll just add that you shouldn't confine yourself to new guitars. Well cared for 2nd hand guitars can often give you guitar bang for your buck that you won't get when buying new.

I agree 110%. With that kind of budget, you can "call the toon". Good luck.

Sorry for taking so long to reply but my PC caught a virus and I had reformat as none of my anti-virus software could pick up the virus and delete it.

Anyways thanks for all the great advice and warmly welcome.

I've decided to go to Paul Bothners and Marshall Music next week, I will let you guys know what guitar I'll decide to get.
