Classic guitar pre amp / pickup repair

Hi guys & girls, haven't posted for a while, life kept me busy with other stuff.
I need a bit of help please, I recently bought a Washburn classical guitar with an aftermarket pre-amp installed that does not work. It is an Artec sound DFC-S unit. It was fitted by somebody in Pretoria I think as that is where I bought the guitar. Does anybody know where I can have this repaired ? Was looking at a Fishman system (original) to replace mine but it is priced a bit high for my budget. You get chinese copies, which looks exactly like the original, logo included, which I am not interrested in.
If possible, I would like to have mine repaired or replaced with the same unit.
Any help appreciated

WillievB Where you in Cape Town I could recommend two guys to try and fix/replace the unit.

If you are feeling handy, The Gear Junkies can source replacement preamps (sure there are other local sources too). I think they stock the cherub one. Valley Sound also does spares, but I'm not sure what they have.

Perhaps a silly question, but have you tried replacing the 9V battery?

If you are in Joburg area, I would be happy to take a look at the preamp and see if it could be fixed. I'm in Sunninghill.

Hi Johny-B, I fitted a new battery. This guitar was kept in a gig bag for quite a while. I took the pre amp out and fiddled with the input and output plugs and got some sound out of it. Will give it a good clean with contact cleaner and see what it does. I actually found the company in Korea that makes the amp and sent them an email to try and find out if they have a local agent. Got no response up to now. If the contact cleaner doesn't do the job I will contact you.
