Of the metally shapes, I reckon the explorer (Jackson Kelly) shape is the most comfy to play (unlike the Randy Rhodes, it can be played while sitting 😉 )
I'm partial to BC Rich Warlock's, but that's more nostalgia than practicality 🤦
EMG HZ's are likely what'll you find on mid-range offerings - they're fine for high gain playing, but quite dark (even muddy) for clean tones. There are alternatives, especially if someone has 'upgraded' the pups in a 2nd hand guitar.
Also there are quality differences depending on where the guitar was made (China, Korea, Indonesia, Japan and US) - with Japan and US being perceived as better, so more $ and more desirable.
If 2nd hand - Trawl SAMIS on facebook, or search around on Gumtree, The Gear Junkie also gets pointy things in, but not often. If new, Paul Bothners are the agents and the best place to look - I can put you in touch with the rep there if you like, he'll be overjoyed to sell you a jackson 😆
