NNID... Not New Interface Day 🤦
Almost as old as time (2003-ish), is the Line 6 Guitarport. It's so old, the original install manual has Windows 98 instructions! Oh dear :grinning:
As simple as simple could be - 1/4 in instrument in, rca & headphones out. There's a 1/8in for the soundcard to line in your soundcard's output. It's a weird option to replace your current soundcard. Never seen it before on a interface, but I guess it's like a mp3 input in modern terms?
There's one knob, output volume. No input gain/volume - that apparently you set elsewhere (Line6 software - which I'm not using). Some users say the knob adjusts input gain/volume, but testing my side results only in output volume changes.

I just installed the Line6 drivers (Win7), plugged unit in and it worked. You can tweak latency (buffer size & samples) via a line6 control panel in windows.
Pro's
Cheap.
Really Cheep.
It works.
Doesn't sound terrible
Decent Latency! (+/- 14ms RTL on a crappy i3 laptop)
Did I mention it was really, really cheep?
Con's
No discernable input gain/volume adjustment
No mic pre's
I had two line 6 interfaces before (Line 6 X3 Live & guitar Rig 4). While I can't a/b them, it sounds pretty much like I recall. Decent for guitar/bass (if a bit treble-y) with reasonable/useable latency (10-15ms) No preamp, so if you need one, you'll have to use something external.
Only thing I dislike is no easy way to set input gain (or even a clipping indicator). To get this(from what I read) you need Line 6 Gearbox/Apps - umm, I'll update if I figure it out.
Historically, I've always had to check the input in the DAW anyways (particularly formy crappy slap bass) and I don't have a high output guitar so this isn't a drawback in reality.
And the price? Free!!
