Guitar Getaways

Just been reading the Guitarist mag and something that struck me as quite darned funny at first, is this guitar getaway thing that is always advertised in the mags. But I dont think it's so funny anymore. They seem to be well supported and people that go get to meet all sorts of other people and learn guitar stuff from really good guitarists, etc.. Has the idea to setup some events like this in SA been considered? I dont believe that it would be a waste of time. Reading posts on this forum I get the impression that there are a lot of people that have plenty to offer as far as playing, building, tech, ag all sorts of aspects of the disease. Personally I'd just be a consumer. Just interested to know if anyone has given it a thought?

there used to be one a few years ago , but i think the guy wasn't making his money , and packed it up , which i rather sad .

Dan Patlansky's hosting one the end of April which I'm attending. Its a long weekend workshop and they can accomodate 20 people. Not very expensive and it's sponsored by Fender.

We should look into this ?
I would definitely attend one of these weekends. Imagine spending a weekend in Clarens and spending time with like minded people.

NEED??!! There's more stuff that I need and dont buy than what I buy and dont need. How much of what you see AND NEED do you actually acquire? You covet what you se listed at the bottom of people's posts, but do you hop in your car and go and buy?
