Sanchez Acoustic?

Good day, I would like to buy my 10 year old an acoustic guitar, I don't want to spend an arm and a leg as she has never played before, I want to make sure she uses it and enjoys the instrument and if she does I really don't mind upgrading to something better in the future, what are the views on a Sanchez Acoustic for a young child?

AluCarD Sanchez are pretty awful - it's the tuners really, they are generally sticky/grinding even from new. I know she won't have much issue with tone and most beginner guitars need a setup but you can do better than a Sanchez for around similar $.

Tanglewood have a reasonably priced line called 'Discovery by Tanglewood' - bonus is you can get 1/2 & 3/4 sized instrument for the younger player - check on Raru for stock/pricing.

If in Cape Town I know the Gear Junkie and T.O.M.S do stock them.

AluCarD welcome to the forum.

Another consideration is classical vs acoustic ie.. nylon strings vs. Steel strings. The latter is notoriously tough on beginners fingers, whereas nylon is quite easy on the fingers. There is a sound trade off too, and classical guitars are typically smaller bodied too.
For a 10yr old.. i would likely buy a full size guitar. I do agree with V8 though, sanchez are not great. Dependent on budget, some of the known brands like Cort and Ibanez also make good entry level models.
Important would be an instrument that has reasonable playability.. ie.. lowish action and easy fretting. No one likes to have to fight with the guitar when playing. Especially players starting off. Good luck
