I fear this may be a post I regret. Picture it if you will...
The core band, Black Cyrus, was battling. Internal politics and whatnot had seen the usual rifts slide in and cock up the music. Getting rid of the problem was not as easy as it sounded - the offending member (M) is the owner of the band room, and a relative of some of the other members.
It's for that reason that I yanked two of the other members out to my place in Randburg and set up a mini studio for four days. We sat down and decided that we were going to record complete songs. Complete, vocals the lot.
We'd never attempted singing due to the fact that M firmly believed he was the singer - even though we'd never heard him sing. We were pretty sure at least on of us could wing it and put something down. So we all gave it a go.
The three songs here were all completed in four days. From concept to final mix, drums included. It was all done in my living room, on a lap top with free software (drums on Leaf). The vocals are atrocious but the project was a success. In four very long days, we did more than the old band did in a year of playing together.
Herewith, the fruits of our experiment. Easy on the flames. *cringe*
