Ok, let's start the experiment
As mentioned in the lockdown challenge thread, I composed a short tune for my German bagpipe, called it "Regentanz".
For the lockdown challenge, backing tracks were given to complete the song. Now the opposite: A given lead melody shall be transformed into a short song by adding some backing noise
Since I do not have an electric guitar, it would be very interesting whether a nice metal version can be created out of it
However, this is not a challenge, so if anybody wants to try something else, please do it There are also no limits for the length of the song. If you want to copy the template track up to 30 minutes, ok
And there is no deadline.
I did a first try and recorded some chords with my acoustic guitar. Then I added some strings and drums with the DAW (Cakewalk). And a lot of reverb. I'm alway told that I use too much reverb. But somehow I like reverb and therefore push the reverb button too hard, I guess
Mixing is still developable. But now I'm mixing on speakers instead of headphones as suggested by @warrenpridgeon. That actually worked better!
Here's my result:
For the lead track I mixed two recordings to conceal little faults, I'm just playing the German bagpipe for around 3 months
I hope the rhythm is spot on enough to work with it. I also have currently some tuning problems with my bagpipe, probably the change in temperature. But I hope the track is sufficient, at least for some little experiments in the name of fun and curiosity
So, here is the SoundCloud link. Speed is 150 bpm. Hope you can keep up with it
So, go ahead and have fun
Since it's a composition of my own, there are no copyright problems. Feel free to clip it, switch it, stretch it, change it or mute it as you please
