Mostly country on my side, but becoming more and more of a blues man ?
Heath
mostly classic rock to bluesy rock type of stuff

Difficult one to Vote in, should have unlimited choices
My main genre would be blues because of my limited ability, I only really know the blues scale ☹
But on the other hand, I play a lot of Nylon, which would be more classical and jazzy. I have also got the Metal bug, working on that a bit. Also love Acoustic guitar with alternate tunings etc. Actually I enjoy all types of genre's, as long as it has a guitar in it!! ?
?

I would have to go with Metal, Alt then Rock!

Yeah i know.. Generally what you play most.
I play rock, pop, blues, solo fingerstyle, man if it has a guitar part in it i'll play it!!! .. but mostly blues (or that is what i enjoy the most) ?
Its endless i know. It can give us a rough idea i guess!

A always thought of me being a blues man, but I recently started examining what I play and it is a lot more instrumental rock oriented. more guthrie Govan than John Mayer. although I like john mayer more, I like playing guthrie more???? so I traded in my Fender strat dream for some kind of ibanez super strat with floid rose and humbucker dream

Instrumental rock . . .
Riaan
Mostly blues improvisation, 'cause that's about all I know a little about.

Tough choice to make.
Any natural kind of music ,rock, metal, blues, classical, acoustic, some weird instrumental stuff and still trying to play jazz(oneday).
So basically anything besides rave and hip hop.
DaFiz
Blues, rock, and a bit of country folk (I try deny that I do country but I love CSN&Y)
My latest involvment with a group has led to some gospel rock.
I'm getting to the point that I'll play along with anything coz nobody's ever gonna play the songs I really like. :-\
AlanRatcliffe
Primarily rock, with strong flamenco and classical playing style (but not composition). To a lesser degree, some influence from pop, avant garde, jazz fusion, blues, metal, world, country and electronica.
Did I leave anything out? ?

well i'm a full time musician......
live these days i play strictly nylon string fingerstyle world music ( which includes... african/flamenco/latin/ celtic/blues/ classical/morroccan ) and jazz standards done in my acoustic percussive style so impossible to choose one genre....
i also compose in the above styles and compose for film too, but then i play keyboards, bass guitar electric guitars percussionand in almost any style..
so yeah tough question
peace and light

Mostly metal and all of its millions of sub genres, but I like to dabble in blues and jazz every now and then for the hell of it. And then of course there's classical music.
Shredder3211
would say metal, then rock, punk rock but i want to get into instrumental rock like joe, nice melody but still working on theory and skill.i have the rest of my life to prac...and that is awesome,

I try and play a variety of stuff but I always fall back to the blues. If I lose focus for just 1 second and let a little minor pentatonic lick slip into my practice routine it's over. I load up a backing track and lose myself to the Blues for the next hour or two =)

You can't kill the metal....

It's pretty much the only genre i play.

Mostly Rock, but I do not limit myself to any particular type of music. If it's "interesting" and I like it, I will jam along with most genres.
I could go from Hendrix with my Strat to playing a bit of Zep on my Les Paul, to The Rolling Stones' "Tumbling Dice" on my Tele (which
is tuned to Open G most of the times, specifically for Keiths stuff) , and will attempt (I say that with caution) some Satriani, etc.
I also like Sting, (is this jazzy, rocky, alt???) just love his chords and style.
Then I also love the Motown, and of course, Carlos Santana, this is when my PRS's come into play!
Just by the way, listen to Carlos and a young Australian chick called Orianthi.... She is truly a female version of the master..Carlos:
BluesAddict I hope you like this.

Nice.
Rock, Blues, Metal, Alternative so far. Interesting that there are so few others.
Not enough "active" users make this question pretty much more flawed that it already is!
