My new Gear.... Cont

Dirk

Hey Guys,

For the sake of not having to open each individual picture in a new tab, I finally figured out how to upload a picture straight onto the message board.

So here it is:

VG Strat

A zoomed in view of the Roland pick up and tuning and modeling knobs

ESP 800 Series - e x Seymore duncan Hummies

Cort Semi Acoustic

Cort KX1 - My previous best friend

Crafter Bass

Squonk

good stuff Blues, How did you manage to upload pictures?

Dirk

Actually it was quite a mision, but the best way is to register on www.photobucket.com. you will be able to upload pics from your pc. Once the pic is uploaded, click on the share button on top of the pic. it wil then open a new screen, go to "get link code", and the use the link that says "IMG for bulletin boards". Copy and then paste on the message board.

Good luck man, let me know if you dont come right

The VG STRAT

How does the detuning work. If you change to DADGAD, how does it sound when the strings are still in standard tuning but through the amp it's changed?

Thats right Squonk, the "Roland Hex Pickup" changes the pitch of every string, although it does not effect the tone of the strings at all and it does not work in normal "strat" mode, only in the modelling modes. One must still keep in mind that it only changes the sound through the amp, so when the amp level is low, the sounds may clash between the guitar and the amp. what I like about the Modelling, is that each setting on the 5 way switch, gives you 5 different tones on each model (Humbucker, Tele and accoustic (also 12 string).

I'll see if I can record some clips and post them this week.

Nice VG Strat, buddy, but man, I hate those molded cases Fender supplies with their guitars. I actually got myself the "original" Fender Deluxe Hardshell Cases for
my Strat and my Tele and virtually threw those crappy cases out.... just makes your gear feel so much more..er... sacred.... they are expensive, but hey, I love my gear tooooo much!

Dirk

That's actually a good idea. I wasnt too keen on the case (it was my first American Fender), but the guys quoted me about R2100 for a desent case ?, just a bit out of price league.. So I tried all the classifieds.. They're pretty hard to come by.

Just a thought. They are hard to come by (the real thing). You will never find one in South Africa. If you know someone who may be going to the US, wait till then. There is a shop called "Sweetwater" in Indiana, they sell the real thing for $149.00 (about R1400), and will ship for free anywhere in the US. (I'm sure there are others as well). This person can then bring it back for you as luggage.

In the overall scheme of things, (about R29,000-R31,000 for your guitar), ...... another few bucks?
Go to "www.sweetwater.com" just for fun anyway.
