Pedals

Mickey

I need a delay/reverb/echo combination pedal. Is there one and what make of effects pedal?

The TC Electronic HOF is one that springs to mind. Well known and reliable

Mickey Someone does that combo in a pedal, but I can't recall who - it's uncommon - my first thought is a multifx of some flavour. Have a look at a Zoom Multistomp pedal - as a multi-FX in one pedal option.

What do you think of the Zoom gfx - 3? Any good?

Thanks. Will scout around for one.

Mickey Havn't ever used it - but I do have a soft spot for Zoom multifx. I think the bass versions of their multifx all sound pretty good. I'm a long time user of the B2 and when I have to upgrade (Eg. when my 2nd one dies), I'll get a B3/B1on.

I did suggest the multistomp cause it will do reverb and delay in one stomp box sized unit - with the bonus of being relatively cheap 2nd hand and you can store presets of delays/reverbs you've brewed up.

A guitar tech guy is selling a Zoom gfx - 3. Think I'll go for it. Great to have you around with such advice.

Mickey No worries - hope you gel with it. Multifx are an acquired taste - need to read the manual and tweak n tweak.

What amp are you running atm? There's a trick to getting multifx to play nicely with differing rigs - it's never plug n play!

I use a Fender Squier I am thinking of upgrading pups on (maybe Seymour Duncan) through a Fender Champion 20. All very basic I guess but it's pretty decent.

Mickey Hank's sound was fairly basic - I put together a quick n nasty patch yesterday on my multifx - didn't quite get it to dialed in for Apache - but it was a fun & twangy surf rock sound.

Personally, I wouldn't get hung up on the exact equipment - Roland Space Echo's are reallly great, but just try to find fresh tape for it...!

Just in case you wanna read more about multifx/amps/etc... here's some reading: #26795

Thanks. The delay video was also useful.
