The Guitar Talk Anthem Challenge!

V8 · 2019-08-31T08:28:20+00:00

Thanks to @Stoffeltoo for this month's Challenge topic..."Anthem" And before we get into it - a big thank you to @Stoffeltoo, @RodneyVikens for agreeing to roll over last month's R100 Raru voucher (Sponsored by @studmissile!) Enter an anthem to your preferred playing style. So yes, open to four main genre groups, Folk/classical, rock/blues, Country/pop, Jazz Rule is to share blurb on origin and why you see it as your anthem as music is a very emotive art form and song or song structure has its origins somewhere in the creator's psyche. So I guess anything goes. And hopefully after approval, have fun with your individualised original interpretation of an anthem. ? Entries Close: Sunday, 29th September, 23:59PM ?Rules: Only one rule, no more than four (4) minutes in length. The genre's mentioned are a guideline, if you reallllly want to do metal anthem, go for it!! ⁉How To Enter: Record your entry, sign up or log in to SoundCloud, post it there. Then grab the SoundCloud link and reply here with the link pasted in your reply. ?Prizes: The fame and glory of winning a GuitarTalk Challenge. And the ever increasingly dubious distinction of selecting the next challenge topic. Anyone can enter this competition. You just need a guitar and a phone. But any other recording equipment is fine too. Collaborations with fellow members or anyone you can recruit is encouraged!

Its a bit of a mix of all my favourite things (folk rock, funk rock, rock) ?

I'm sure you get the picture.

A thanks to Stoffeltoo who provided some guidance and tips on mixing and recording. Much appreciated.

guidothepimmp Your guitar skills are next level. I will stick to punk vibes for now. Down, down, down, down, down, down.....

klaasvakie

guidothepimmp I heard an earlier version of this (sneaky sneaky), but I love the way it came out! Glad you posted the version with vocals, and as always your guitar work is something to be envious of.

Stoffeltoo

Studmissile - Buckle Bunnies

Unashamedly country. There's a telecaster with twangy tones, double stops, rodeos, cowboys, bulls, broncs and buckle bunnies. How could it possible not be an anthem?

RodneyVikens

studmissile well done. Sounds good.

Stoffeltoo

studmissile
I would have been disappointed if it was'nt Country. The day I can gooi your riffs, i'll be a happy man indeed.
Well played. Luvit!

RodneyVikens

So we have an Anthem for Homeless Sidewalk, Jazzy vibes, Diepte Afrikaans, Alternative Punk something, Country, Rock 'n Roll.... Nice!

Stoffeltoo

RodneyVikens yep, it surpassed my greatest expectations and +1 for a Yeti entry

Stoffeltoo

I find the different styles and anthem interpretations interresting and appealing. I would dare say that the entries surpassed my best expectations.

Yeti

RodneyVikens not this time I'm afraid. Just had too much on my plate this month, although I did manage to contribute something to @Stoffeltoo's colab, which was fun.
Holding thumbs for next month...

Stoffeltoo
