The water's already heated if your geyser is working properly. And you were going to have a bath at some point weren't you? ?
But the idea is to turn your LIGHTS off. Not the entire feed to your house, but the lights.
A) as a way to "cast a vote" for whatever policies that web site is backing
B) to allow Eskom to say "if N people turn off their lights for one hour then the saving is X".
