I haven't practised in WEEKS. Maybe over a month ? Today I realise it might have something to do with my messy "office".
I work from home and my jam space is also my office. I have a guitar stand, amp, pedals and my recording device in there. Also, my desk, computer and a tiny fish tank, and a plastic table with a "fish tank" experiment I never started. That tank is empty but taking up space. Same goes for the table.
A couple weeks ago, I brought in another 2 guitar cases from the garage and a few other things. Over the past few months, in fact, I've been adding more crap to my office. It reached the point where it was a mess and cramped.
Yesterday I tidied everything up. Put my guitars away until I'm ready to put in the effort to sell them. (That's why I took them out.) Put away the spare tank and spare table and tidied up the room a bit.
Just the bare necessities in here now.
And I almost immediately felt like picking up my guitar and playing.
Messy space, messy mind. That's true for me. Maybe it's true for you?
So if you haven't been playing and you don't know why, maybe clean up your jam space and see if that fixes things.
Hope this helps someone ?
