Dont want to waste my money - just basically looking for something to get my guitar noodlings onto the PC and this seems like the most direct route.

I haven't used one, but the reviews are good. But rather try soundtrader, they are about R200 cheaper

hmmm...I wouldn't buy it just because it's behringer. If I were you I'd save a little more and buy a line 6 UX1 or UX2. More reliable and gives you useable tone.

Have read a back issue of Guitarist (297 December 2007) and they give the Behringer UCG102 quite a good write up. You can trust the Guitarist reviews IMO as they don't seem to be affiliated to any brand, and they tend to be honest in their reviews

It also comes packaged with watered down version of Guitar Rig, a special Behringer special edition as well as Audacity and Kristal 16 track software.

A good place to start recording. ?
