Anyone heard of a "Musician" strat copy possibly made in Korea? Looking to pick one up cheap to start a project?
Cheers

Not heard of or seen one - doesn't mean it wouldn't make a good project though. Check if ply body (bad) and ceramic magnets in the pups (not necessarily bad, but alinco is generally preferred) - though if the neck profile works for you and the frets are good - it's worth looking at.

Though personally I'd start off with a SX, I think they make a really good mod platform. I had a tele and it was a solid thing.

Other options could be Yamaha Pacifica's and (some) Corts. The Squire Affinity stuff isn't bad either, though I think it's usually over priced.

Thanks for the input I’ve also been thinking about the SX. I really just want something that I can tear apart and possibly (probably) mess up so I don’t want to spend much . I’ll try and learn from this one and do better next time sort of thing. Cheers Ian

Suppose it depends on what he intends to do with his project Guitar..
If Dadorian is just going to play around with the wiring and pickups, and hardware, suppose taking a existing cheap guitar will work..
If however you plan on new finish, ect.. maybe a blackbeards DIY guitar would be a better option..

Hi tedibear, I hadn't considered a DIY, mainly because painting finishing etc not my strong point. Haven t heard of blackbeards will look them up. Thanks for the input .

Tuckstir Very true! Though, I'm a player at heart, so I generally try and start with something that has some promise and work from there. Probably why I'm not big into kits - I can't feel it until it's put together ?

        But yours do look great!

suppose that's where my chosen daytime entertainment comes into play..
I have to take ideas and turn them into reality. normally somebody else's concept though, and never as cool.

and I'll freely admit my building skills far far outstrip my playing skills.. I don't yet qualify to call myself a guitar player..?
