Hay guys I am thinking about getting a drum machine as a practice aid. Was thinking about the Boss DR 670, has touch sensitive pads and programable bass. What do you guys think? Any other Models? Ideas?

While I haven't used the DR-670 specifically, I've had a few Boss/Roland over the years, and they are always fairly easy to use.

I went to a BOSS demo a year or two ago, it was done by some insane guitarist from eastern europe somwhere (i forget his name) and he gave a demo of the Boss DR 670 and based on that it seems like a really valuable piece of equipment...

Mmmm, not that big a fan of their guitar modeling, but they have some nice stuff. Was thinking to get a drum machine, The RC 50 looper, SL20 slicer and then midi pedal to control all. GAS BABY YEAH

Have you considered using software for a drum machine or do you want a physical device to use as a drum machine?
There are alot of open source drum machines out there.

Mmmm I'll have a look. Maybe should try that first, Thanx inflames.
I do like hardware more, cause I like turning the actual knobs and pushing the actual buttons

Not free, but if you're working in a sequencer, EZDrummer is fun, real easy to use and sounds good. You can buy expansion drum kits for it too.

i have a boss dr550-mk2 its what the 670 is based on.
pretty simple straightforward, has some usable sounds (certainly for practice)
simple step sequencer, looks like loads new sounds have been loaded into the new version and a bunch more extra features!
i couldnt imagine buying one brand new (how much do they go for these days??) but thats just me.
i personally prefer samplers and computers as you have more control over the sound. but these things are expensive (cheap second hand stuff is much cool anyways)
