I never got rid of my vinyl, but gave away a lot of secondhand "finds" or "gifts" because they were abused, worn out on cheap turntables with bad needles, or not something I would ever want to listen to. Expensive now, but well worth it on a decent Hi-Fi. I did learn that one could make a CD almost "nice" through a valve amp, but really, the main attraction is ease of use.
Since I do not have unlimited free uncapped wifi, downloading high-res music from the web is just something I have heard of. But apparently is is better than CD. Chee, I could never understand MPXX compressed mania, but it is handy for the car and PC. I fear I am entering the same phase I was forced to when vinyl disappeared and the shops were overflowing with CD's. I shall just have to buy into new technology. Later.
