I don't have a mic at the moment to do recordings, anyone have an SM57 for me?? :-[

Awesome man, that sure looks easy enough (famous last words). I am purdy scared of anything electric due to my lack of knowledge, but I am starting to get tempted into trying this. I'd love to hear sound clips, would sure like me a dirty blues pedal!

Nice job - welcome to the slippery slope of DIY pedals, there is always just one more to build...

Agreed about the housing being the biggest pain, I've currently got 6 builds complete but not boxed up. Just can't be arsed painting and finishing boxes at the moment - and one was supposed to be a xmas present for a mate. Might be next year at this rate!

@Fritz: LOL! but it is actually pretty easy! Just takes a bit of time and effort. I don't think you can kill yourself with 9V DC, hmmmm? :-\ If you buy me an SM57 I can give you some sound clips? hehe. will try borrow a mic tonight.

@ralley: Already thinking about a tubescreamer and dynacomp ? But have to fix/mod my crybaby first! I didn't even paint or label the case! would like to try at some stage tho... you have any links or recommendations?

you get quite creative, along the lines of danelectro e.g. fried sardine distortion, peanutbutter compressor etc.

Most came from yebo electronics http://www.fort777.co.za
Switch ordered overseas, and breadboard from Mantech (local) cos yebo didn't have any.

Right, so here's a sound clip... thanks to Maverick for the loan of the Audix I5 mic!!!!!! Hopefully I'll be able to enter a challenge or 2 now.

getting to grips with some blues, but my turnarounds (amongst other things) need some work! haha

recorded as follows: Audix I5 into Tascam US-122. used Ardour (Ubuntu Studio) to record, added some reverb to taste and exported to .wav then converted to MP3 using lame.
track one (rythym): epi LP (bridge pickup) into "the KayDUB DODO" (lol) into blackheart (amp was clean, bass 2 o clock, mids 3 o clock and treble 10:30)
track two (lead): same setup, just a bit more reverb ? on the neck pickup

Did you just go to yebo with the parts list as it is on DIY Stompboxes and did they then pick the components for you?

pretty much what I did for my fuzz pedal which I havent started to build yet. they'll have all the bits you need.

ya, pretty much, they asked me a few questions and i was like, "'what?" and just guessed the answer.... turned out ok. ?

One thing which is good to get to grips with is the measurement units for caps and resistors.
uF nF etc (caps) and Ohms/K Ohms/ M Ohms for resistors. Lots of docs on web for this.
It helps if you know how to convert them cos sometimes they not all in the same unit.
