Ibanez Strat

The photo is unfortunately not very good, but it shows the general idea. A very old Ibanez Strat. Much used, the (aged) owner still gigs with it, my wife says he plays good, but the owner's comment when my wife asked for a photo to show me, was "it's not for sale, it's very old". Translated to guitarspeak I take that to mean "it has been a part of my life for so long I am not letting go". I have never seen one, was this 1970's? My experience with Ibanez guitars is mainly black, SG or LP styles, or the RG style. Would like to see this in real life, and feel that neck. If it is that old, it may even be of good quality, and well worth looking out for.

Yup, those are mid to late 70s, well regarded, pups were a bitnshart though but the quality of wood and build was respectable

My wife says the owner remarked that a Fender is better (?) but too expensive. I share that sentiment...

Yeh, difficult to say. Its like the LPs, there are the rubbish hollow top bolt on necks versions, and then there are the solid set neck versions which were exceptional..

These ibby strats i believe are similar. I played an ibby tele from 70s, wasnt bad, but didnt shoot the lights out either

Played a couple ibby telecasters from that period, loved the necks. Funny haven't seen too many ibby strats. I know players who are crazy about them.
