So, finally it lives!!!

Got my home built Tube Screamer working today with the help of a good friend. All that needs to be done now is the true bypass and the enclosure.

Are those surface mount jack sockets? The ones you mount directly on the board?

It's sounding okay so far, a bit noisy still, but probably because it's not closed off yet... But not bad for a first try. As soon as I'm 100% done I'll put up some sound clips.

Yes they are, I'll mount them once I'm 100% sure of everything.

i built one of these this weekend , still on the breadboard mind you , but was nicely surprised at how good it actually sounded the problem now is i may be addicted .

the pedal is a little noisy , but no more then most behringer pedals but i suspect that once it's in a metal box it will be quiet

Really cool! But anyway, I've been wondering about the switch. Someone mentioned 3PDT switches aren't easy to find here - what about a toggle switch? It's not much harder to switch using your foot, and Rabtron has one -

The problem is that that toggle is going to break.... I've used them in gear that is switched by hand and still had switches go faulty... I'd not want to try and switch that with my foot and expect it to last. If you are going to all this effort to build one, don't cut corners! Order the correct part.
