But...I'm gonna be that guy and say it was a Cell mic challenge ?
I don't know what to say to that... I had the tools and I used it. I believed that I was in the spec.
Ahhh, merely a observation (no judgements here) - it was a debate in the thread, I recall we settled on any mobile device that had a mic. BUT...it did cross my mind that a iRig was a alternative - which I am glad you did, coz it sounded great!

Thank you for the kind words. Yes i believe this was my best recording yet by far. I used a Samsung S5 'nuff said. The challenge was a journey of discovery and the simplicity of multi layering process. The mixing was a greater and frustrating challenge.
The Nexus Tab of Dave's & your S5 sounded great, though I reckon you must of reallly tested your patience mixing on that?
My Samsung S4 mini has two options for the mic, 'soft' which sounds like it's underwater and 'loud' which clips when ants walk by. Think the deciding feature on the next phone will b e a decent mic, only heard good things about the Hauwai P9 lite...hmm.
