Reintroduction upon returning to the forum

Good day ladies and gents!

After a year since my last post, which was almost a year since the last post before that, I am proud to say that I am back on the forum. I have tried being a part of the Facebook guitarist community, but its a bit of a personality cult, so I decided to come back to my roots to the place where I learned most of what I know about guitars, back in the golden days.

Either way, I looked around a bit and I see some new faces and some interesting threads! I hope others will follow suit and also return to the forum.

So, about me?uring the day I'm a chemical engineer and the rest of the time I'm a bit of a gear collector, although I have thinned the herd a little bit over the past year. I love hard rock/ metal and I always strive to attaining THAT tone. THAT tone to me would be, brown sound, screaming Marshalls and skull crushing tone from cooking tubes.
I wish I was a better guitarist, but alas, time is always limited.

Anyway, I hope to share some good topics with you guys and to learn more!

I've also learnt a shedload here over the years - be open to opinions, experiment and keep learning.

I wonder what the personality cult was...no need, I think I can guess ? Ahhh, I reckon when you get two or more humans gathered there'll some kinda politics, or the perception thereof? Here or there it's not that different...except on the forum it seems to be more people interested in music and sharing experience/info than finding a pithy oneliner that gets attention?

My main objection to facebook : Google can't search it, so any info that might be of use to people over the years is quickly lost, either in the pithy one-line comments or the deluge of sponsored advertising.

Look forward to posts/experiences and whatever you care to share!
