I hesitate to call things rare, but in this condition (and stock) - I reckon this one qualifies. Only three small blemishes I could find on this guitar are pictured, otherwise it's in excellent condition. Recently serviced and setup by Traut Guitar Worx, plays sweetly - no issues at all. Have compared it to two Fuji-gen strats and you can see the quality in this guitar.
Serial number decodes as made at Fuji-gen Plant, Japan, in 1992. Production Number: 29303.
Specs : http://ibanez.wikia.com/wiki/RT240
Highlights :
Gotoh tuners
Alder body
Viper Neck - The specs I've seen say 'U shaped', but I think it's between my MIJ and a contemporary Wizard III neck.
High output Pickups (makes my MIJ strat sound anaemic)
Great sunburst finish
A very interesting guitar - Kinda shreddy but kinda strat-y feel to it. Plenty of life left in the frets - looks lightly played. Popped the neck off to find it's a RT450 neck with a RT240 body, and it was very clean under the pickguard.
If I were still a guitaring shreddy smurf, I'd keep it, but I'm focusing on the low-end, so I don't need it (want is another story).
Comes with a hardcase in reasonable condition (Case exterior, interior and latches in very good condition - but the hinges have been abused a bit, case still opens & closes fine though). And the whammy bar!
R4000, no trades.
