Thanks Meron. Don't know how I missed that one. I would make an offer but...it's completely the wrong colour... ☹
Oh dear...it MUST be sunburst... :?
Bwahaha, don't mind me - I <insert heresy here>, don't really have much love for the ol' lead plank. I've tried more than a few and while I get that they are great instruments, I've never clicked with one. Seen a bunch of Gibson LP Studio's under 10k, sure there's one out there for you - patience!

not sure how the shops are surviving cos in these tough times I cant see to many punters.
Yeah, new prices are generally quite silly, and the 2nd hand market is very competitive.
From what I hear, the regular retail stores are sweating a bit. I think they have lost the trust of the buyer - in the internet age, it's tooo easy to pop onto ebay/amazon and see what's the intl. pricing and compare.
To be fair, one should can't judge the retailer without considering what is the distributor's markup...and that's where I think the issue lies. As more than a few peeps have commented. Seeing the waves of local sales/specials (where the best price is STILL 10-20% above the going price in the US/UK) over the last 24mths, I reckon we're starting to see the gap narrow. But I don't like the practice at all. Hence my ongoing commitment to the junkie way-of-gear.
