Hi Stud.
I see it has a built in stereo condenser Mic. Are you using an external Mic as well or only the built in Mic?
And - do you do anything else with the vocals once recorded?
Would you say its worth the cash for the Br Micro?
Thanks.
Yes the built in stereo condenser only, on the fardistant setting, for voice and guitar. There's also a delay setting for vocal, I'll try and use in the next challenge.
Sometimes I export each track as a wav (you can as a wav or mp3) file and mix them in reaper, if I need to add a midi track. (WARNING you can't export import WAV and MP3 on the newer Boss Br80!)
I love the br micro, 2nd hand they pop up at R1000. and they are well worth it. I actually bought the upgrade Br80 2nd hand, but didn't like it at all and sold it. The stereo mics sounded awful for vocals. Also the rotary wheel was horrendous to use. Also some of my favourite guitar efx were missing? But it did have some new ones which were lovely.
The original br is still the best, except you need a power supply (it eats batteries) and you can only use 1 gig or 2 gig (which will format itself to 1 gig) old type SD memory disk. They are very hard to find now days. It takes the 9v boss pedal supply.
I save my batteries for power failures
The greatest thing of all is its great fun and portable for jotting down ideas, it takes a little time to learn, but once you got the just of it, you're A for Away!
I'll add this clip (it helped me a lot to get my head around the Boss Br)
